Overview
Redfish, or ocean perch (Sebastes mentella), is a firm, mild whitefish from the Northwest Atlantic. Ocean Choice owns quota for the species, which means consistent, dependable supply, and the fish is harvested by our vessel the Ocean Breaker.
We freeze redfish at sea (FAS) to preserve freshness and texture. Frozen-at-sea H&G is graded 100–200 g, 200–300 g, 300–500 g and 500 g+, in 22 kg or 2 × 6 kg boxes; frozen-at-sea whole fish is graded 200–400 g, 400–600 g and 600–800 g, in 10 kg or 22 kg boxes.
Custom packing is available, and the redfish fishery is MSC certified — a strong, sustainable whitefish story for retail and foodservice.
