Overview

Whelk (Buccinum undatum) is a cold-water sea snail with firm, sweet meat that is increasingly popular in Asian markets. Ocean Choice processes it at a dedicated plant on Newfoundland's south coast, with a production season running from May to August.

We supply both formats buyers ask for: IQF whelk meat in 9 kg packs, and IQF in-shell whelk graded under 50 g and over 50 g in 10 kg packs. Both cooked and raw preparations are available.

Our south-coast plant is HACCP and QMP approved, and the product is wild-harvested — a Product of Canada with full traceability.
